Three Rivers Hospital CEO Receives Statewide Honor for Rural Health Leadership
Three Rivers Hospital CEO Scott Graham has been named the 2025 recipient of the Washington State Hospital Association’s (WSHA) Joe Hopkins Memorial Award, recognizing his decades of leadership, advocacy, and service to rural health care.
Each year, WSHA honors an individual who embodies the spirit and dedication of the late Joe Hopkins, a pioneer in rural health advocacy. Graham has been a trusted voice for rural hospitals across Washington for more than 20 years, known for his collaborative leadership and steady guidance through challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Scott Graham’s commitment to advocacy, care and professional growth embody the spirit of the Joe Hopkins Award,” said Cassie Sauer, WSHA President & CEO. “This recognition is a fitting tribute to his impact and service.”
At Three Rivers Hospital, Graham has led with a focus on teamwork, accountability, and compassion –helping the hospital navigate financial headwinds while continuing to meet the community’s needs. He also serves on WSHA’s Rural Hospital Committee and Clinical Excellence Committee, and he has been an influential voice in statewide discussions about sustainable rural payment models.
“Scott’s leadership has profoundly shaped our organization and rural health care in Washington,” said Jamie Boyer, Chief Operating Officer. “He’s a champion for the underserved and a driving force behind our culture of respect and innovation.”
Board Secretary Leslie McNamara added, “There couldn’t be a more deserving recipient. We’re so proud of Scott for his dedication to our hospital and to rural communities across the state.”
Graham follows in the footsteps of former administrator Howard Gamble, who guided the hospital from 1952 to 2000 and received the Joe Hopkins Memorial Award in 1987, the year the award was established.
The Joe Hopkins Memorial Award honors visionary leaders who share Hopkins’ passion for strengthening rural health care in Washington.
