Drop off your old medications at Three Rivers Hospital
Three Rivers Hospital partnered with American Rx Group in 2018 to bring a secure medication drop-off kiosk to Brewster.
Here, you can bring in your expired or unwanted medications for safe disposal. The kiosk is located inside the hospital’s main entrance, which is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Permitted:
- Prescription or over-the-counter pills, ointments, and patches
- Vitamins
- Pet medications
Not permitted:
- Syringes
- Inhalers
- Aerosol cans
- Lotions or liquids
- Thermometers
- Hydrogen peroxide
This program was funded by a $10,000 grant from the North Central Accountable Communities of Health (NCACH). In return for the grant, Three Rivers pledged to provide more community education about opioids and increase access to naloxone, a synthetic drug used to treat opioid addiction.
According to the Food and Drug Administration, very few medications should be flushed down the toilet, and only when a take-back program is not accessible. To view the FDA’s flush list, click HERE.
