Three Rivers Hospital now offers COVID-19 antigen tests for hospital district residents attending public events, traveling, and returning to work or school.
The hospital still provides send-out PCR tests. The turnaround time for PCR tests is between 48-72 hours, but for antigen tests it is within four hours.
Although PCR test results take longer, they return more accurate results. Providers rely more on this test to diagnose COVID-19.
“Anyone seeking an antigen test is responsible for checking with the venue, airline, or their employer or school ahead of time to be sure of which test is required and the timeframe needed for results,” hospital spokeswoman Jennifer Best said.
“Because patient care is our priority, our team would not have the capacity to follow up on the types of testing that may be required.”
Test Needed for Travel, School, Work, or Event
If you are not symptomatic, come to the hospital’s main entrance between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The hospital is located at 507 Hospital Way in Brewster. Please wear a mask and prepare to be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.
